Woke up this morning to the news that the NSW Department of Education is changing their policy to reflect a more ‘PC’ position. The change? – BC (before Christ) to BCE (before common era) and AD (Anno Domini: in the year of our Lord) to CE (common era).

I’m reminded of what was happening recently over the last Christmas period when the debate raged (again?) whether or not we should have naitivity scenes displayed in public and whether or not we should teach children the meaning behind Christmas.

Exactly who is getting offended here? Sorry if I sound blunt, but when I was a Buddhist it never occured to me that Christmas or how I recorded the date was offensive. And why should Muslims get offended when they believe that Jesus existed? I don’t get it…

It sounds as though the only people really getting worked up about these issues are Secular Humanists… and how much of the population do they make up? And how much of the population will they continue to make up in the future? – according to this article.

Little side note – I saw on the news later that night that some critics have observed that the NSW Department of Education have actually caused the controversy they wanted to avoid (by making the change they did). Oh the irony…
