Portfolio relating to the Trinity. Three parts:
a) (700 words) Key relevant biblical texts, briefly noting where points of tension or dispute exist in contemporary theology in relation to the texts selected
b) (800 words)Short review – one significant relevant contribution from an historically important theologian (50yrs old)
c) (1800 words) A comparative analysis of three contemporary scholars’ perspectives on the Trinity (recent – within last 30yrs)
Also:
1) (250 words) 1-page outline of 30 minute sermon on the Trinity
2) (700 words) Appendix explaining how parts 1-3 (above) have shaped thinking in relation to the sermon outline produced.
3) (500 words) Reflections

Having come to independent conclusions on the relationship between practical and pastoral theology, propose a biblical model of pastoral care, and explore the roles of the people of God as a caring community.
Essay 2 – 4000 Words (60%) – Due: 4th October, 2011AD
Analyse and critique various understandings of the relationship between pastoral care and pastoral counselling, arriving at independent conclusions for the delivery of pastoral care and pastoral counselling in the congregational setting. This assignment must show evidence of a capacity to research, gather and critically integrate information on pastoral care.
OT690 – Old Testament Project
Project – 8000 Words (100%) – Due: End of Semester
The relationship between Wisdom Literature (Job, Ecclesiastes, and Proverbs) and Israel’s salvation history.
This project topic will research how Wisdom Literature (Job, Ecclesiastes and Proverbs) relates with and interacts with Israel’s salvation history. It will seek to demonstrate that elements of the categories of understanding the Old Testament, ‘covenant theology’ and ‘salvation history’, are also found in the Wisdom literature which helps to orient our understanding of relationship between the two. The essay will also consider how Christians might appropriate the Wisdom literature.
