How to pray for persecuted Christians
Steve Nation has posted up a 10 point helper, from Barnabas Fund, on how to pray for persecuted Christians. Join us in praying through the points for the next 10 days.
Together for the Gospel has produced another great book from their most recent conference. In it you’ll find a the transcripted version of each speakers talks given over the conference. Well worth a read. I have a copy of ‘Preaching the Cross’ if you ever want to grab that. Otherwise head to the T4G website to download the talks for free.
Tim Challies gives this book a review. After judging the book by its cover I thought it would be another great apologetic book to add on our shelves. However here’s what Challies has to conclude about it:
The Case for God, then, is in no way a case for the God of the Bible or, really, for the God of most other faiths. Rather, it is a defense of making the idea of God respectable again, even if it means radically changing what we mean by that name. It is an absolute mess and easily one of the most boring, most obnoxious books I’ve ever read.
Fox News has been quite critical of the Obama administration in the past. Get past any perceived bias in this report (from Fox News!) and you’re still left with this: the Obama administration wanted to exclude a particular media outlet from participating in White House correspondence.
An ever insightful article from John Piper on the issue.
Now something a little more study related (at least for me!). An online Hebrew and Greek bible for students and pastors (and anyone else interested in the original languages of the Bible). Type in the passage and the original text comes up. Verbs are highlighted in pink and nouns are in green. Hover over the words and the parsing for each word comes up. Have fun!
