So the past few weeks have seen a pause in blogging. The deadly combination of family illness and catch-up-busyness has meant all thoughts on posts were paused. The good news is that we’re all back on deck and it feels like most things have been caught up. It feels like I’ve finally caught my breath after a few weeks of disorientation.

Which brings me to this post about the Oxygen conference in August this year. In 2011 the inaugral conference was held in Sydney. Over 2000 attendees came – mostly pastors and lay leaders from churches – to çome up for air’. Ministry is a hard slog, and for most pastors working on their own it can also be fairly lonely. The Oxygen conference was created to encourage and equip leaders in their work.

I didn’t attend the first conference partly because I was in the middle of my final year of College and quite heavy with assessment. My co-pastors at St Lucia went and came back with flowing endorsements. So this year is my turn to head down.

And I’ve been given a Press Pass!

A Press Pass has a few little perks – such as morning/afternoon tea and lunches provided, internet access to the press room, etc. But the two main things will be all access pass to all sessions at Oxygen, and a possibility of being able to interview some of the speakers.

In the coming months I’ll also be blogging my way up to the conference, and I’ll be live blogging while there.

For now, here are some things to read about Oxygen:

First, check out the lineup of speakers. It’s an impressive gathering of well known bible teachers.

5 Reasons to Attend Oxygen 2014 – if you need more convincing to come, well here you go.

Here’s a short video from one of the conference speakers – Bob Kauflin – on his elective stream.

That’s it for now. More to come in the coming weeks!
