Very, very frightening me!

Of course, the classic lyrics from what I consider (and many others) to be the ultimate rock song of the ages: Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen.

Given the small drought of blogging of late (thanks to new baby girl!), and with plenty of storms rolling over Brisbane the last few days (and more expected over the weekend) I thought it high time to pull together some of my favourite versions of Bohemian Rhapsody from all over youtube.

Starting with the original of course:

There’s a few split screen takes of the song but I think this is one of the better ones by Richie Castellano:

Jake Shimabukuro – ukulele extraordinaire – gives it a crack from a TED conference in 2010:

Not to be left behind, the Muppets give the song their original flavour:

Since starting his youtube channel Mystery Guitarman received the most requests for this song. So here he is with his rendition… with slide whistles!

Maniacal 4 – a Trombone quartet – give the song a crack and I think it’s really good!

Now for some lighter versions – here’s the original Captain Kirk, William Shatner, giving a spoken rendition:

And this mix would not be complete without Steven Thoen’s American Idol audition:

So which one is your favourite? Which version have I missed? Post your thoughts in the comments below!

Update:

I do feel rather foolish that I left this one out…
